Blanca or Blancy as I lovingly refer to this beautiful little angel, is a beautiful loving little dog, who will look deep into your soul with her big dark eyes, with so much love, it’s truly a beautiful thing.
When Blanca came to live with me, she was fearful and would nip out of fear if you touched her, trust was not something she gave out freely or easily. For the 1st couple of weeks, I would talk to her, get down to her level, petting her head, eventually her back, but only if she were comfortable and give her, her space. Then one night, she came into the family room and crawled onto my lap. That was a huge breakthrough for her. She was initially still a little stiff, but I knew at that moment, that she wanted to connect and although for her, this was a risk, it was one she willing to take. What an honor that was and continues to be and will be for her forever person/people.
Blanca currently lives with other 5 dogs, all sizes and 2 cats and gets along well with all the animals and she has taken a liking to one of my Chihuahuas, so I believe She’d be fine with another furry brother or sister around her size that is friendly. Because of her shyness, she’d do best in an adult home with someone that is patient, kind and has experience with shy fearful dogs. No kids under 12 and only kids that respect her space. Once she gives her heart to you, she is very loving and will give her heart to you completely.
Blanca is potty trained on a regular schedule and she does use potty pads. She is also kennel trained.

All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).
Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
